Bee Hive

Privacy Policy

How Bee Hive handles your data — on iPhone, on Android and in the browser at playbeehive.app/play.

Who we are

The operator of Bee Hive ("we", "us") is the controller of the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, use the in-game support option (Settings → Support) or the form on our support page.

Your player account

Bee Hive keeps your game on our servers, so your progress is not tied to one phone or one browser. The first time you open the game, a player account is created for you automatically. No name, email address or sign-in is needed to play.

On iPhone you can link your account to Sign in with Apple, and on Android to your Google account, so you can carry it to another device. We receive the account identifier, and the email address if Apple or Google shares it; we use them only for signing in.

What we store

Against your player account we store:

We do not collect your contacts, your photos, your location or your phone number, and we never ask for your real name.

Usage analytics

The game sends usage events — for example starting and finishing a level, opening the shop, claiming a reward — and error reports when something breaks. They are attached to your player account together with basic game and device information. We use them to see where players get stuck, balance the game and fix bugs. They are never sold, never shared with data brokers and never used to advertise to you.

Purchases

Bee Hive is free to play and offers optional one-time purchases: coin packs, bundles, season passes and No Ads. There are no subscriptions.

Notifications

The game asks before sending notifications, and only after you have played a few levels. If you allow them, we use your notification token to tell you when something new arrives in your inbox, when a new room opens, and when you have been away for a few days. On iPhone and Android, the reminder that your lives are full is scheduled on your device. Notifications are delivered through the push notification services of your device or browser. You can turn them off at any time in your device or browser settings.

The browser version

At playbeehive.app/play the game stores its sign-in token and a copy of your progress in your browser's storage, so you can continue where you left off in the same browser. The browser version uses a guest account that belongs to that browser: clearing your browser data, or playing in another browser, starts a new account. The page records when the game starts loading and finishes loading, so we can see how long it takes. The rest of playbeehive.app — this page included — uses no cookies and no analytics.

Team chat

Messages you send in team chat are visible to the other players in your team and are checked for abuse. Do not put personal information in them.

Contacting support

When you write to us — by email, through the form on our support page or from Settings in the game — we receive your email address, what you write, and the device, platform and player details sent with it. We use them only to answer you.

Age and children

Bee Hive is a general-audience game. On first launch it asks for your age band. Players under the age of digital consent in their country play the same game, but are not offered account linking or notifications. We do not knowingly collect more personal data from children than described here; if you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Advertising

Bee Hive contains no advertising SDK and shows no third-party ads.

Who processes data for us

We use carefully selected service providers, each acting under contract and only on our instructions: a hosting and database provider, an analytics provider, push notification services, payment providers for browser purchases, and the Apple App Store and Google Play for purchases and sign-in on phones. We do not sell personal data to anyone.

Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved mechanism.

Legal bases

Under the GDPR we rely on: the performance of our contract with you to run your account, keep your progress, deliver your purchases and answer support requests; your consent for notifications; and our legitimate interest in a working, balanced and secure game for usage analytics, error reports and chat moderation.

How long we keep data

Your account and progress are kept until you delete your account. Purchase records are kept as long as accounting and tax law requires. Support conversations are kept as long as needed to resolve your request.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — for example the EEA and UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port the personal data we hold, and to object to processing. To use any of these, use the in-game support option or the support form and include the Player ID shown in Settings if you can. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under US state privacy laws. If you are in the EEA or UK and unhappy with how we handled your request, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Deleting your account

Uninstalling the app or clearing your browser does not delete your account, because it lives on our servers.

Records of purchases are kept as long as accounting and tax law requires. Team chat messages you sent may stay visible to that team without your name attached.

Changes and contact

We update this policy when the game changes; the date at the top always shows the current version. Questions: use the in-game support option or the support form.
